The Lyndhurst Foundation’s tristate funding geography encompasses a wondrous array of wildlife and forests, grasslands, caves, and freshwater systems that define the region and maintain air and water quality, sequester carbon, provide recreational opportunities, and enhance quality of life.

The foundation supports projects that translate into the direct protection of terrestrial and aquatic habitat and biodiversity to sustain functioning ecosystems and mitigate the impacts of a changing climate. Additionally, the foundation works with partners to create and expand beloved public places that offer opportunities for physical and spiritual renewal, outdoor recreation, relaxation, and connections to people and nature.
